Danish Refugee Council (DRC)

About the Company

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a non-governmental, non-profit, humanitarian organization that operates in more than 30 countries around the world. Since the end of 2010, the DRC has been present in Afghanistan implementing programs that include livelihoods, defense, emergency response and preparedness, infrastructure development, supply chain management and UNHCR logistical support. Via the Ministry of the Economy and MoRR, DRC is registered with the Government of Afghanistan. DRC AFG has introduced DANIDA, EC, ECHOP, BPRM, UNHCR and WFP-funded programs that benefit over 25,000 displaced families each year. DRC adopts a regional approach which unifies our country programs around the Afghan displacement axis in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and Tajikistan. This decision is based on the premise that a regional multi-stakeholder solution to the massive problem of displacement is required. The DRC strategy is in line with the UNHCR’s drive for a strong and ‘Comprehensive Solutions Strategy’ focused regionally (2012-2014). Wherever feasible, the four country programs seek to follow a regional approach to operations, including cross-border livelihood and security programs, as well as organized emergency preparedness and response preparation.
