Position Summary:

GNI-A is looking for an innovative and driven business development expert to join our growing team. The person(s) in this role would be primarily responsible for the formation and managing the social enterprise project of GNI-A; named Women Tailoring Hub. The incumbents will also be responsible for liaison with the relevant stakeholders, pinpoint opportunities and lead the team towards the achievement of the goal of the project/GNI-A. We are seeking a candidate that is creatively-minded and self-motivated with good management skills when it comes to establishing a reliable social enterprise. Candidates with a background in social enterprise projects operations and management, particularly of tailoring business, who are analytically minded and motivated will do well in this role.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

The head of the project is responsible for successful formation and execution of the project; she/he shall strive to coordinate and complete the project on time within budget and within scope; set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. The following are of the major task for the incumbent;

Develop and agree work plans for the slick management of; recruitment, procurement, operations, marketing and sales and capacity building course(s).
Observe the market thoroughly, identify opportunities and mobilize resources for its attainment.
Determine and define project scope and objects, develop budgets and action plans and manage the work plans to meet the goals efficiently and effectively.
Endeavor to create a friendly environment with beneficiaries and good relations with stakeholders.
Develop reports, timely, and share it with senior management of GNI-A and GNOI’s global office/Good Neighbors Global Impact Foundation (GNGIF).
Monitor progress, recommend required adjustments and provide support and advice from time to time to the staff.
Liaise with and coordinate with social workers and stakeholders for identifying the new resources, markets, beneficiaries etc.
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement and utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
Any other task relevant to the job or as assigned or as directed.

 

Main Deliverables:

The Head of Social Economy Project will be responsible to assist the team leader to deliver the followings:

The Head of SEP shall be responsible for the operations and management of the project/WTH.
S/he shall prepare reports; an inception report following the commencement of her/his job, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual and need-based.
Liaise with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc), and relevant sector(s) for getting signed the MoU and sharing periodic reports and communicating with the stakeholders accordingly.
With the support of GNI-A, the Head of SEP shall conduct an assessment of the tailors, develop selection criteria and discuss the terms and conditions and draft contracts for them.
S/he shall assist the GNI-A’s Admin and HR Department in the recruitment of administrative staff for the WTH project.
The Head of SEP shall, with the assistance of GNI-A Head Office (HO), shall procure the required assets (machinery, equipment, raw material etc.).
When needed, the Head of SEP shall have meetings with the potential customers, strike the deals, take orders from them and order production.
In consultation of GNI-A HO and GNGIF, s/he shall review the working plan periodically and conduct the necessary adjustments for the future.

Job Requirements:

Must have good computer skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills (Dari/Pashto and English).
Must have strong organizational, motivational, social networking and time management skills.
Ability and willingness to travel to all field frequently and at short notice.
Ability to work with a large and diverse team of different ethnic groups, nationalities, gender, socio-economic status, and literacy levels, etc.
Ability to motivate subordinates and build functional teams.
Ability to solve problems and cope with quickly and frequently changing work environments, including taking quick decisions to address emergency security situations.
Good understanding of tailoring businesses – preferable.
Good marketing and sales skills – preferable.
