About the Company
Geres – Acting for climate solidarity is an international non-profit NGO created in 1976. Today, around 200 persons work on innovative and sustainable development, in more than 12 countries worldwide.
Geres has been working in Afghanistan since 1995 in energy efficiency for domestic and public buildings in cold regions and rural development projects.
In 2021, Geres is running only one project in Afghanistan: energy-efficient homes in Kabul and Badakhshan.
Project Overview:
The primary objective of the project “Connecting Energy Savings Solutions in housing for improved livelihoods and enhanced job opportunity“ financed by the grant agreement is to develop and promote the sustainable production of technologies for energy saving on the household level in the province of Kabul. The activities are furthermore aiming to preserve natural resources, reduce household spending on energy and foster job creation through the advancement of local handicraft businesses.
